Day 1-Kampala-Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary-Murchison Falls National Park.

You will be picked up from your Kampala hotel, Kampala residenc, Entebbe or anywhere within a 30kms Kampala radius . The vacation package then departs to Murchison Falls NP and travel via Masindi . We enter Murchison Falls Park from the south gate. On your way to Murchison Falls Park you will stop over for lunch at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary..You will take the ferry and cross the river Nile to the northern bank where your lodge is located if staying at Paraa Safari Lodge. A late afternoon or evening game drive in search of the lions and other wildlife is anticipated on arrival (L-D)

Murchison Falls National Park (MFNP)

Murchison Falls Park is the largest National Park in Uganda. It is a comfortable 5 hours drive from Kampala mostly on tarred roads or good gravel roads. The park has an area of 3840 km2. Murchison Falls Park is bisected by the River Nile, which divides the park into the northern and southern parts. The mighty river Nile flows over the Western Rift Valley escarpment between Lake Kyoga and Lake Albert, and falls 43 m over a 7 meter gap that forms the fantastic Murchison Falls, a spectacle when you go on safari here.

Together with Queen Elizabeth NP, the park is the most important sanctuary for wildlife, game and other animals. A boat cruise upstream to the top of the falls provides an unforgettable experience. The falls can also be viewed from the top.

On the Northern banks is typical savannah which hosts and is habitat to most of the game and wildlife that can be viewed in Murchison Falls Park. The boat cruise is perhaps the most prominent activity in the park and one of the great experiences in Africa. The abundant game that includes elephants, Rothschild's giraffes, buffalo's, Nile crocodiles and many birds, come to the river banks to drink in the afternoon African sun and can be clearly and spectacularly seen from the boat. If you prefer you can dismebark from the boat and hike up to the top of the falls. Splendid awesome views, just!

Day 2- Murchison Falls National Park-then return to Kampala.

After an early morning breakfast, you have the chance for a  morning of game drives in the park!  The best area for game-viewing on the north bank is the peninsula between the Victoria and the Albert Niles. It's known for abundant wildlife and has several game drive tracks including the Buligi track, Victoria track, Queen's track and Albert Nile track. You get to see the Uganda Kob, the oribi, the Jackson’s hartebeest, buffalos, elephants, lions, tigers. North of the Nile is where you find the typical palm savannah which hosts beautiful Rothschild's giraffes, large herds of buffalo and elephants.

The afternoon will be spent on a beautiful picturesque cruise on the Nile by boat . The boat cruise takes you upstream towards the splurging Falls. This is where the Nile explodes through a narrow gorge and cascades down to become a calm river. On the banks of the Nile river will be the large number of hippos, elephants and the Nile crocodiles. Prominently January and February are very enriching viewing opportunities for Nile crocodiles since this is the breading season. The launch trip is a unique adventure, full of on the water activity and memorable game viewing surprises!

After the boat cruise, we return to Kampala.

Tour Day 1;

The short Rwanda gorilla express tour, starts with our driver guide picking you up from your Kigali hotel or Kigali airport. Time permitting you do a quick 2 hours Kigali city tour. After lunch your tour guide will brief you on your short gorilla safari. Afterwards the tour proceeds to Volcanoes National Park, a scenic 2.5hours drive from Kigali through sharp winding roads and steep rolling hills. We eventually arrive in Ruhengeri and check into your overnight accommodation either at Muhabura Hotel or Mountain Gorilla View Lodge.

Time permitting you may go for a quick excursion of the Musanze caves , visit the twin lakes of Bulera and Ruhondo or a local market/cultural village.

Tour Day2;

After a very early breakfast, your tour guide will transfer you from your overnight accommodation to the park headquarters in Ruhengeri. You will be briefed about gorilla trekking etiquette and will be allocated a gorilla family for trekking. For this tour package, we shall stay away from the Susa gorilla group which usually takes the whole day to trek.

When you find the gorillas, you spend one hour with them after which you return to the base of the mountains where your tour driver will be waiting. You will return at the lodge for lunch, after which you embark on a return transfer back to Kigali.

We head straight to the airport for your outbound connecting flight.

This short Rwanda tour is for visitors to Rwanda who wish to sample the relaxed atmosphere of the Lake Kivu lakeside town of Gisenyi as well as trek the Rwanda mountain gorillas in their natural habitat in Volcanoes National Park. This is an action packed and fun filled 3 days vacation in Rwanda, the land of a thousand hills. The short Rwanda vacation starts with a 3 hours drive from Kigali to Gisenyi. Arrival and then check into Lake Kivu Serena Hotel, our tour luxury accommodation for the next 2 nights. The evening is spent having dinner at the fantastic Lake View Bar terrace with it's splendid views overlooking Lake Kivu. The tour participants are entertained by the local Ijabo band.

Day 2 of this luxury Rwanda vacation sees us travel to Volcanoes National Park a comfortable 1.5hrs after a very early breakfast. We arrive in time for the 7am pre-gorilla trekking briefing at the park headquarters in Ruhengeri. We go gorilla trekking and later visit the famous Musanze caves. We later return to Lake Kivu Serena hotel in the afternoon and enjoy a variety of activities on Lake Kivu, including boat rides, jet skiing, kayaking, beach volley ball or simply relax in the Lake Kivu Serena swimming pool. The tour participants later in the evening over a cocktail get briefed about the famous Congo Nile trail. Dinner is poolside as we get entertained by Intore dancers.

Day 3 starts with a Congo Nile expedition which is followed by breakfast and later by a tour of the beautiful lakeside town of Gisenyi. Tour Day 1: Arrival at Kigali Airport Rwanda , do a Kigali city tour(depending on arrival time to Kigali)

You will be met on arrival at Kigali airport by our tour liaison officer and your tour driver guide for the tour package while in Kigali. You will be briefed about your holiday package with details of the trip flow, activity schedule, accommodations etc. Any questions you may have will be addressed. We will then conduct a tour of Kigali city where the history and current developments of Kigali will be explored. Kigali is the economic and financial hub of Rwanda. Kigali has a rich history and is surrounded by beautiful hills and perhaps one of the cleanest city environs in Africa. You will simply be amazed. Perfect gateway for what we hope will be an amazing 6 days with us on the chimps and gorillas tour of Rwanda. While on the Kigali city tour we shall visit the genocide memorial in Kigali, a very moving testimony of Rwanda's un-flattering past.

After lunch, the tour package leads South of Rwanda to Butare the former capital city of Rwanda and educational hub that hosts Rwanda's leading intellectual institutions of higher learning. The tour holiday is scheduled to stop over enroute to visit the King's Palace in Nyanza, an art museum before we proceed to Nyungwe Forest National Park for our chimpanzee trekking expeditions. Nyungwe Forest is famed as the only travel destination in the world where one is able to see up to 13 primates species in a solitary location. The primates species to be found here include, angolan colobus monkeys, white colobus monkeys, the chimpanzees, the blue monkeys and the L'hoest's monkeys. The populations and concentrations of the habituated primates stands at a staggering number of over 500 primates in some troops of chimps and monkeys.

Tour Day 2: Trek chimpanzees in Nyungwe.

After breakfast you report to Nyungwe park head quarters for pre chimp trekking briefing. You will proceed to the forest in search of the chimpanzees. You later return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon immerse yourself in either of the activity options below:

•  Join a tea plantation expedition to learn how tea is harvested and       later
•  Visit a local tea factory to witness firsthand about the entire tea making process. Rwanda produces some of the best tea in the world. You will be able to taste some of the best freshly prepared tea

Tour Day 3: Morning transfer to the shores of Lake Kivu Kibuye.

Good things don't last forever. On this morning, we must depart Nyungwe Forest National Park for the equally exciting destinations ahead of us on this tour package of Rwanda. We depart Nyungwe and head out to Kibuye a beautiful rather calming town bang on the shores of Lake Kivu. Lake Kivu is regarded as one of Africa's great lakes and the 6th largest lake in Africa. Rwanda is currently prospecting for commercial natural gas in Lake Kivu. There is plenty of activities on the lake including boat rides, dug- out canoe cruises etc.

Tour Day 4: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park.

This morning, as per our tour package schedule, we transfer to Volcanoes National Park via another beautiful lake side town of Gisenyi. We drive through beautiful lush green countryside and expansive tea and sometime coffee plantations. You will meet local Rwandans on the way going about their daily economic activities. We anticipate to stop in Gisenyi for lunch, where you may spend a few hours relaxing on the tropical beach on the shores of Lake Kivu. In the afternoon we embark on a 1.5hrs transfer to Volcanoes National Park. o/n Mountain Gorilla View Lodge FB basis.

Tour Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park Rwanda.

After a very early breakfast your tour driver guide will transfer you to the park headquarters for gorilla trekking briefing. You will be assigned into groups of 8 and allocated a gorilla family to trek. Once the trek is completed and you have met the gorillas, you will return to the base of the mountains. Your tour guide will return you to the lodge for lunch. Afterwards depending on the rigours of the gorilla trek and its toll on you, you may choose to relax at the lodge, take a guided walk to Ruhengeri local market where you get an opportunity to purchase local artcrafts, Rwandan fabrics, local foods, Rwandan coffee, and souvenirs.
