Lake Kivu & Short gorilla tour Rwanda 3 days.
This short Rwanda tour is for visitors to Rwanda who wish to sample the relaxed atmosphere of the Lake Kivu lakeside town of Gisenyi as well as trek the Rwanda mountain gorillas in their natural habitat in Volcanoes National Park. This is an action packed and fun filled 3 days vacation in Rwanda, the land of a thousand hills. The short Rwanda vacation starts with a 3 hours drive from Kigali to Gisenyi. Arrival and then check into Lake Kivu Serena Hotel, our tour luxury accommodation for the next 2 nights. The evening is spent having dinner at the fantastic Lake View Bar terrace with it's splendid views overlooking Lake Kivu. The tour participants are entertained by the local Ijabo band.
Day 2 of this luxury Rwanda vacation sees us travel to Volcanoes National Park a comfortable 1.5hrs after a very early breakfast. We arrive in time for the 7am pre-gorilla trekking briefing at the park headquarters in Ruhengeri. We go gorilla trekking and later visit the famous Musanze caves. We later return to Lake Kivu Serena hotel in the afternoon and enjoy a variety of activities on Lake Kivu, including boat rides, jet skiing, kayaking, beach volley ball or simply relax in the Lake Kivu Serena swimming pool. The tour participants later in the evening over a cocktail get briefed about the famous Congo Nile trail. Dinner is poolside as we get entertained by Intore dancers.
Day 3 starts with a Congo Nile expedition which is followed by breakfast and later by a tour of the beautiful lakeside town of Gisenyi. Lunch is at Lake Kivu Serena Hotel before we embark on a leisurely transfer back to Kigali. This short Rwanda safari holiday can be combined with a safari to Nyungwe Forest to track the chimpanzees or to Akagera for game drives. Ask us for trip extension details.
Holiday Day 1
- 1400 Hrs : Depart for Lake Kivu Serena Hotel. Journey expected to take approximately Three hrs
- 1700Hrs : Arrival to LKSH and check in
- 1930 Hrs : Enjoy African Themed buffet dinner at Lake View Bar terrace. Ijabo band in performance. Guest leave at leisure
- Overnight at Lake Kivu Serena
Holiday Day 2
- 0500Hrs : Converge for a cup of tea or coffee at the reception lobby
- 0515Hrs : Depart for Volcanoes National Park for a scintillating Gorilla trek experience and a visit to the famous Caves
- 1500Hrs : Late lunch at the hotel
- Rest of afternoon at leisure; Enjoy our boat rides, kayaking, jet skiing or a leisurely swim in the pool. A game of beach Volley ball at 1730hrs
- 1900 Hrs : Cocktail party by the pool . Briefing about the Congo Nile trek.
- 2000 Hrs : Dinner by the pool while enjoying the famous Rwanda Intore dancers. Guest can leave at leisure. Remember, Nyanja disco is open today…

Holiday Day 3
- 0700Hrs : Depart for the Mini Congo Nile trek walking excursion with our resident guide
- 0930Hrs : Full English Breakfast at a selected venue
- 1015Hrs : Second phase of the excursion culminating to a tour of Gisenyi town
- 1200Hrs : Early lunch at the hotel
- 1400Hrs : Depart for Kigali
